NOW HIRING! CAPND is hiring a Statewide Weatherization Workforce Outreach Specialist. This position focuses on addressing workforce shortages within the Community Action Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP). This role involves further curating and implementing of a comprehensive statewide recruitment plan, fostering relationships with various stakeholders, and promoting the program to attract skilled candidates, especially for leadership positions. This includes roles such as foremen and crew leaders. The specialist will also organize recruitment events, represent the WAP at public events, track recruitment outcomes, and explore innovative recruitment opportunities. This position will also work closely with the North Dakota Department of Commerce, Division of Community Services. The goal of the position is to enhance energy efficiency efforts and create meaningful career opportunities statewide.
The specialist will implement a detailed outreach plan which includes:
Building a leadership development pipeline
Leveraging industry-specific recruitment channels
Collaborating with employment organizations
Targeting mid-career professionals
Incentivizing leadership roles
Strengthening partnerships with technical colleges and apprenticeship programs.
Hosting leadership-specific recruitment events
Collaborating with workforce development programs
Exploring community partnerships for leadership development.
Partnering with technical colleges and high schools
Building relationships with contractors
Leveraging statewide campaigns
The ideal candidate should have a background in weatherization, workforce development, or community outreach, and have strong communication and presentation skills. Proficiency in Office 365 and the ability to operate basic office equipment are also required. Additionally, the role requires the ability to work independently, maintain professional relationships with a diverse group of individuals, and travel independently. The specialist will also be responsible for tracking recruitment outcomes and providing accurate reports.
