What is a Client Intake Specialist?
Before the crew and inspectors can do their work, staff that work more in the office are needed to find and qualify clients. The client intake specialist is usually one of the first points of contact with a client and may even go to neighborhood events to talk to people about the Weatherization Assistance Program and how it can benefit them. This is a more administrative position and might not require the more technical skills needed as a crew leader or energy auditor. They answer people's questions and helps review applications and required documentation to ensure clients are eligible for the program.
To be successful in this role, we recommend having:
- Knowledge of the Weatherization Assistance Program requirements and measures.
- Ability to understand utility bills and other financial documents.
- Attention to Detail
- Organization and multi-tasking skills.
Finally, to be a success client intake specialist should enjoy talking and working with a variety of people including those who are having difficulties with their health, safety, or finances.
