Weatherization Jobs

Weatherization Crew Leader

What is a Weatherization Crew Leader?

Weatherization Crew Leaders help to perform home upgrades, but also supervise and manage work done by other members of the weatherization crew. Most crew leaders start out as a member of the weatherization crew and have an understanding of various weatherization and construction techniques. Crew leaders are not always the ones doing the work, they are overseeing it and making decisions about it, and are ultimately responsible for successful home improvements.

To be successful in this role, we recommend having:

  • An understanding of the weatherization process and techniques
  • Ability to explain information like manual, diagrams, and other processes to others
  • Leadership and Interpersonal skills
  • Ability to problem solve and be creative - every house is different and you can't always do the same things in the same way for every home you work on.

Finally, to be a successful crew leader, you need to be responsible and hard working. At the end of the day, you are one of the people responsible for ensuring the work is completed efficiently and successfully even if you aren't the one doing all of the actual work.
