Weatherization Program Director

What is a Weatherization Program Director?

Weatherization Program Directors oversees all program staff, planning and performance. The program director mostly works in the office to make sure individual projects and the program as a whole are performing as they need to. Often, but not always, weatherization program directors begin their careers as a member of a weatherization crew and become crew leaders, energy auditors, or quality control inspectors so they have a deep knowledge about the weatherization process.  

To be successful in this role, we recommend having:

  • Finance and Business Knowledge
  • Understand of the Weatherization Assistance Program Policies and Processes
  • Problem solving skills
  • Ability to talk about weatherization to a variety of audiences.

Finally, to be a successful program director, you need to have strong leadership and interpersonal skills. The director will need to be able to support their weatherization staff and provide guidance and feedback when needed.
